co founder essentially human
My childhood dream was to become a footballer. Dedicating my youth to becoming one, I fulfilled my dream by signing for my hometown professional club. The game taught me the value of team work and the importance of discipline and dedication…
Devastatingly, when injury struck, I was thrown into the wilderness and forced to change course.
Next up – acting. Life intervened, I landed a role in a BAFTA award winning BBC drama. This led me to a London drama school, I went on to perform in national theatres and appeared on television. I enjoyed studying others and exploring who I was. I also gained a new-found confidence to entertain. Everything seemed to be working out but I found myself questioning, was this ‘really me?’ Was I contributing to life in the way I wanted to?
So, I left the world of acting and was drawn to explore corporate life. When presented with an opportunity I threw myself in with a passion to contribute. I quickly gained a broad knowledge of the company and was made a Director of a well-established and growing business. With the new role came new responsibilities and I quickly found myself working long hours, experiencing chronic stress and without realising, became detached from what really mattered. The cost of being ‘successful’ was a deterioration of my health and the break-up of relationships I cared about. A lack of work-life balance left me sensing there had to be another way.
At what cost does success come? I continued to search for answers.
What does fulfilment look like?
Can we be successful and happy?
Can we prioritise people and profit?
And so began my journey within…
These experiences led me to study psychology, explore spirituality and invest in personal development. As a result, I trained as a coach, which is how I met Karen. I’ve since committed to finding fulfilment, aligning my life with my values and becoming the best version of myself.
